State Deification

The state has become an idol and men worship it.  This is an incredibly dangerous religion.  This could easily be the most dangerous time.  The state carried out many atrocities over the years, and I’m not downplaying those.  However, the state has reached a level of deification that is unprecedented.  The enemy is freedom and all who support it.  State deification is a dangerous myth.  Man can exist without coercion.

The state is merely an artificial arrangement of individuals.  Individuals are living, breathing, and acting.  The state is a collection of individuals.  It’s an artificial construct of the ideas of acting individuals.  The state is based on ideas.  The state is a tool created by the masses.  It’s based on the customs and traditions of the people that live within it.  However, customs and traditions have been replaced by an omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent deity.

The state demands unquestioning obedience.  The masses have begun to worship a monster.  No human could command control over so many people.  They must appear as a deity.  In reality, they don’t possess the knowledge they claim.  It’s not even close.  As Mises pointed out, “He who is unfit to serve his fellow citizens wants to rule them.”  The so-called public servants can’t serve others so the clamor to be their master.

The worst rise to the top.  The goodness in each doesn’t add up to be a super good human.  The are humans like the rest of us.  Considering their desire to rule others, they’re the worst among us.  The smoothest liar gets elected.  What animal is so dumb to pick the worst among them to lead the pack?  They must continually lie about emergencies and wars to keep you from thinking.  All thinking is dangerous.

Today, it’s not uncommon to confuse freedom and power.  The destruction of words helps achieve the propagandist’s goals.  There’s no freedom unless there’s freedom for all.  Freedom for a few means slavery for most.  Deifying the state is dangerous.  There’s no way it can be beneficial to the masses.  Catchwords and slogans are nonsense as soon as you think about them.  The propagandist will have a difficult time.
